Winery Review:  Fresh juicy cherries and ripe sun-kissed raspberries grown on California’s Central coast come to mind when swirling the 2009 Merlot in the glass.  On the palate, the welcoming fruit-laced nose gives way to delicate notes of exotic spices, vanilla and soft silky tannins. The finish is velvety smooth with lingering notes of pomegranates and cherries.  It’s easy to pair this charming wine with the likes of strawberry vinaigrette salad or roasted lamb with red plum sauce.
Review: The wine smelled like citrus fruit. Then some pear and orange in particular. There was also a sugary vanilla smell. The wine tasted like butter and spice. I also got the tannins very strong. It was balanced. There was acid and flavor and tannin all nice together. I did not get run over by just one of them.
