Winery Review: This Pinot Noir from Durell Vineyard is distinctive in style and unique in taste. On the nose, savory aromas of smoked meats and fragrant herbs are touched with the scent of mouthwatering ripe berries. Flavors of liqueur-soaked dark cherries, with pancetta and rosemary support smooth tannins that precede a long, silky finish.
Review: The smell was a very strong buttery burst. Then came a spicy chemically thing. Not exactly sure if that is good or bad. I thought maybe they would balance each other out. It tasted strongly of tannins, berry and soil. There were some herb overtones. However the aroma itself was not very pleasing and neither was the taste.
