Tasting- Montebuena Rioja Crianza

Name: Montebuena Rioja Crianza
Region: Alfaro
Country: Spain
Year: 2007
Price: 6.95
Shop: Vintage Cellar
Review:  100% Tempranillo. Dark red. Spicy red berries and
cherry on the nose, with hints of cracked pepper and
dried rose. Crisp and dry on the palate, with spicy
redcurrant and cherry flavors, light tannins and a
fresh, energetic finish. An excellent value, and
surprisingly elegant for this price point.
Review: It smelled like alcohol. I was very frustrated too not get anything else. I tried for a while. I had three friends there with me and none of them got anything else either. Maybe some spice. It tasted bitter mostly. Kinda like when you bite into something homemade and baked and the person did not mix thoroughly and you get a huge chunk of baking soda. It also displayed some tannins.
